MEET EDDIE
Eddie is the head groom at the show jumping stables Cavalli Park and oversees the care of approximately 40 horses, from 4 year olds to those competing at World Cup level. He has extensive grooming experience working for Paul and Michelle Brent for nearly two years and previously at the dressage stables Danson Dressage and Wyronga Park.
Eddie has also worked for eventing Olympian Megan Jones. He competes himself and has an extensive knowledge of all disciplines of competition.
He is involved in the breeding program including mare scanning, breeding, treatment and medications. Eddie oversees the full care for the brood mares, foals, and young stock. Eddie also liaises with clients and owners in a very professional manner.
Eddie has developed as a groom by working for a selection of top riders in several different disciplines. He left home at 18 and moved interstate to follow his passion for horses and learn the art of grooming and caring for elite competition horses. He has an excellent understanding of what is required to help horses to stay sound.
Eddie lives on site and works full time Monday to Friday as well as working two weekends a month where he either travels to shows with the competition horses or stays at home to care for all the horses at Cavalli Park.
Eddie sets himself apart with his care to detail – nothing goes unnoticed and all issues are appropriately treated. He washes all the horses cotton rug and saddle blanket every weekend, even the weekends he isn’t working having never been asked to do so. He keeps the horses, stables and gear meticulously clean and works to a very high standard. Eddie is a natural leader with a fun and friendly personality making for a good work environment for all the staff.
Eddie rides very well and has ridden a selection of top competition horses for photo shoots at home when sponsors have requested. He has a wonderful, can do attitude and nothing is too much trouble.
