EQUESTRIAN VICTORIA

HALL OF FAME – MARGARET MCIVER

DRESSAGE | INDUCTED 2020

Margaret McIver was a great influence on Dressage in Victoria.

Riding her Thoroughbred horse CK (named after Colin Kelly), Margaret was Australia’s first Dressage representative at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles 1984. Though internationally known for dressage, Margaret was very involved in showjumping and was a regular at Melbourne Royal riding Bonanza.

A true horsewoman, Margaret also competed in eventing in the days where one had to be very brave to tackle miles of roads and tracks, steeplechase and frighteningly tall fences. Marg placed second in the Open at Melbourne with Pyewacket in the 1970s.

A legendary horsewoman, she will be always be remembered and very sadly missed by many.

“a legendary horsewoman and a true trailblazer”
