MEET TIM

Tim has been a committee member of the Caramut Riding Club for over 30 years and President for two terms, the latest being the last 9 years. In addition to this Tim has been a showjumping course designer/builder for more than 40 years, consistently volunteering his time to build at many shows throughout Western Victoria.

Through Tim’s commitment to course design he has and continued to support the development of horses and riders, always looking to encourage participation and improvement.

Those looking to learn course design always have a positive mentor in Tim as he is willing take time to explain to those wanting to learn, a great sounding board for those needing some direction with course design ideas and is constructive in his feedback.

Tim has been the course designer at the Western District Showjumping Championships for the past 15 years, building encouraging courses to cater for younger horses and riders in our lower height classes and challenging courses for our Mini Prix and Grand Prix competitors, in addition he has been the ground curator for more than 20 years. Tim has been a driving force in establishing the Hexham Equestrian Centre ensuring our Club (Caramut Riding Club) and other equestrian groups have a facility for the future. Some of Tim’s accolades: EA Showjumping Volunteer in 2008 President of the Caramut Riding Club when it was awarded EA Club of the Year in 2012

All that Tim has accomplished as volunteer in showjumping has been done while competing and producing horses himself along with supporting his family in the sport. Through his quiet demeanor Tim has never looked for the accolades and doesn’t enjoy the spotlight, but his work ethic and dedication to our sport through the immeasurable hours spent building courses and supporting show committees and showjumping groups in running their events, to preparing surfaces for competition and giving time to help riders with the development of themselves and their horses speaks for itself.
