2021 COACH OF THE YEAR FINALIST

Glenda Hinchliffe

GENERAL – LEVEL 1
MEET GLENDA

Glenda has been involved with horses her entire life and coaching has been a part of this for over 30 years. Her students range from 5 years old to over 70, from beginners to trying to qualify for the Olympics, and each and everyone receives 100 percent of Glenda’s attention with a personalised training program for all. Glenda owns Wyronga Park Equestrian Centre and is involved not only at coaching sessions, supports students at events where she is present, over the phone where she cannot be present. Her love of her students shines through at every opportunity.

Her students’ stand out performances come from Pony Club, HRCAV, Dressage, Eventing, Interschool and Showing. Success ranges from High Performance Dressage Squad members, championships at DJWTS and the World FEI Prix St Georges, to a Para Equestrian Tokyo short list, 1* Horse Trial wins and places, OTT championships and Pony Club and HRCAV championships.

Glenda has a wide variety of clients that she coaches and she personalises her program and coaching to all. Her main goal is for each and every rider to improve and to display good sportsmanship whilst out at competitions or just at club days. When issues arise with combinations she works through the issues by listening to her riders and their experience and teaches them how to overcome any problems. Glenda welcomes all peer feedback. Recently a specific rider was having an issue with a certain movement and another coach offered a training session for the rider as the rider had an intellectual disability and this particular coach had previous experience with this. Glenda not only encouraged the session but wanted feedback to learn the variation in training.
